How to add SightMill tracking code to your website using Google Tag Manager.
If you are using Google Tag Manager (often used with Google Analytics), you can add the SightMill tracking code from within Google Tag Manager without having to directly edit anything on your website, which saves involving any software development
If you're using Google Tag Manager to manage tags for your website and want to install the SightMill tracking code, follow these steps:
- Open your Google Tag Manager.
- Select your website's container, then click Add a new tag.
- Click Custom HTML Tag.
- Give it a name, eg SightMill Tracking.
- In SightMill, go to your Project’s settings page
- Click the menu How to Install.
- Copy the entire SightMill tracking code that’s displayed.
- Back in Google Tag Manager, paste the code in the HTML container.
- Click the Advanced Settings drop down,and select Once per page under Tag firing options.
- Under Fire On, select on which pages you would like to display a survey, for example All Pages.
- Click Create Tag.
- Test the setup by pasting the URL for your website’s page into the SightMill test tool (located under the tracking code in Settings>How to Install.
You’ve now added the SightMill tracking code!
